PROS:-Comprehensive: This exam book is very comprehensive. After four years of pharmacy school (at a highly ranked program), with countless slide sets and clinical guidelines, this was the main study material I used for the NAPLEX. It requires a significant amount of time to work through in its entirety, which may or may not be necessary, but it left no stone unturned when it came to the actual test.-Readable. This may seem like a ridiculous point to make but this book focuses on only the important areas for each disease state and drug class (underlined and bolded text).-Excellent practice questions. Most (but not all) of the chapters include a set of approximately 8-12 practice questions. This may not seem like a lot, especially when compared to other banks of test questions available for purchase, but the style, scope, and content of these questions mirrored what was found on the NAPLEX. Answering these questions (and more importantly, debunking all of the incorrect answers) was an awesome learning and review aid.-Good scope of practice calculations. A very significant chunk of the NAPLEX involved pharmacy calculations that frankly I don't see everyday in practice, and some I only encountered in one course of Pharmacy Calculations several years ago. These questions serve as a nice "refresher." However, it is recommended to practice additional questions for speed and repetition.-The book provides an excellent overview of the exam structure. None of my professors in pharmacy school ever focused on what the testing experience would be like and how the test content would be divided (i.e., it's not 100% pharmacotherapeutics). The book gave a nice "big picture" of the exam to help keep certain areas in perspective.CONS:-Details: Occasionally (very occasionally) I would find inaccuracies and simple editing mistakes, but I suppose this is to be expected because most of the chapters are contributed by different authors.-Good, but not sufficient for preparation of calculations: As I said before, this book does an excellent job of covering the types of calculation questions to be expected on the exam. However, I felt that more practice problems and repetition were needed for adequate exam preparation.
